With all you’re going to do at BVU, we want to make sure you’re healthy in every sense of the word. From physical fitness and well-being to emotional and spiritual strength, BVU has you covered.
Staying fit is the first way to sustain your health through college. It’ll help balance those late night pizza orders and study sessions. In addition to the Lamberti Recreation Center, Frichter Fitness Center and swimming pool, there are wellness classes, including kenpo karate, tae bo, yoga, running group and more. There’s no reason why you couldn’t start your own workout group too.
When you’re feeling under the weather, the full-time staff in the Health Services department can take your temperature, provide over-the-counter medications and help with minor injuries. They can also refer you to appropriate health care professionals when further treatment is needed.
The college years can be tough. It’s the first time away from home for many, and there can be a lot of social and emotional stressors involved. BVU’s chaplain, Ken Meissner, and other counselors are available to help you through times of stress or personal crisis. The counselors are ready to help with everything from relationship issues to grief to test anxiety.
