As of 2:52 p.m., the gas leak has been repaired, and emergency officials have confirmed it is safe to return. Campus buildings are open; Swope Hall will remain closed. Vehicle use may resume, and campus activities, including evening classes, will proceed as scheduled. Food services have resumed in The Serve.
BVU Alert: Campus Updates

12:14 p.m. – BVU ALERT: A gas leak has been reported. Evacuate campus on foot immediately. SLPD is on the scene. Do not start vehicles.
12:23 p.m. – BVU ALERT: Pierce-White, SSA, Science Building, Apartments, Lage, Fieldhouse, and the Suites are safe. Evacuate on foot to these locations immediately.
12:36 p.m. – BVU ALERT: All classes are canceled. Do not start any vehicles. Evacuate on foot. Lage, the Suites, and Apartments must be evacuated. Please go to the Fieldhouse or Science Center Building.
1:13 p.m. – BVU ALERT: Work on the gas leak is ongoing. Evacuation remains in effect. Pierce-White, the Fieldhouse, and the Science Center building remain safe. More updates will follow.
2:52 p.m. – BVU ALERT: All clear. The gas leak has been repaired, and emergency officials have confirmed it is safe to return. Campus buildings are open, though Swope Hall will remain closed. Vehicle use may resume, and campus activities will proceed as scheduled. We will notify students once food services are available.
