BVU, Indian Motorcycle Join In Strategic Partnership

Through a collaboration with Buena Vista University, Indian Motorcycle offers educational benefits to its employees and their eligible family members.

Buena Vista University (BVU) and Indian Motorcycle have aligned as Strategic Partners, providing new opportunities to transform the communities both entities serve.

This partnership allows for employees of Indian Motorcycle, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost per credit hour while enrolled in BVU’s convenient online undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost of education for students enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus.

“We’re excited to partner with Buena Vista University to expand educational opportunities for our employees and their families,” said Kyle Sinz, Manager of Human Resources and Lean. “By working directly with BVU, Indian Motorcycle is helping employees build new skills, advance their careers, and continue growing both personally and professionally while strengthening the future of our workforce.”

Indian Motorcycle is a stand-alone company headquartered in Golden Valley, Minn., with primary operations located in Spirit Lake and Milford, Iowa, as well as die-cast and machining expertise based in Monticello, Minn. The company employs approximately 400 people across its Spirit Lake and Milford facilities, along with several hundred additional employees worldwide.

“Before partnering with Buena Vista University, we supported continuing education through our tuition reimbursement program,” said Sinz. “This partnership expands those opportunities by offering employees and their families an additional affordable pathway to pursue their educational goals and interests, making higher education more accessible.”

As America’s first motorcycle manufacturer, Indian Motorcycle continues to bring excitement and passion to the road for both new and experienced riders. Through continuous innovation and bold styling, the company has become one of America’s premier choices in motorsports.

“When I decided to continue my education, I considered several colleges, but Buena Vista University stood out because of the positive feedback I received from friends and coworkers. The admissions team was responsive, helpful, and transparent, making my decision easy. After learning about BVU's Strategic Partnership Program, I shared it with our HR Manager at Indian Motorcycle. He connected with BVU and recognized the value it could provide employees,” says Ben Stacey employee of Indian Motorcycle and future BVU student. “This partnership gives employees access to a quality education at a reduced cost, making it easier to pursue further education. I am excited to begin my journey at BVU and appreciate the support of the staff. I look forward to learning, growing, and connecting with fellow students along the way.”

“We believe this partnership will create meaningful opportunities for Indian Motorcycle employees and their families by providing affordable access to higher education,” said Laura Todd, Director of Strategic Partnerships at BVU. “It will positively impact a large number of individuals and families by expanding access to flexible, affordable educational opportunities, investing in people, supporting their goals, and helping shape a stronger future for employees, families, and communities.”
