BVU, ElevaCare Join in Strategic Partnership

Through a collaboration with Buena Vista University, ElevaCare offers educational benefits to its employees and their eligible family members.

Buena Vista University (BVU) and ElevaCare have aligned as Strategic Partners, providing new opportunities to transform the communities both entities serve.

This partnership allows for employees of ElevaCare, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost per credit hour while enrolled in BVU’s convenient online undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost of education for students enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus.

“We’re genuinely excited about this new partnership with Buena Vista University. It creates more accessible and flexible educational pathways for our current staff, future hires, and anyone seeking to grow within the mental health field,” says Bailey Reyne, ElevaCare’s HR specialist. “By expanding opportunities for continued education, advanced degrees, and career advancement, our employees can further strengthen their skills while successfully balancing work and family life.”

ElevaCare’s main office is located in Worthington, Minn, with additional satellite offices serving communities across southwest Minnesota. Their administrative office is based in Luverne, Minn. ElevaCare currently employs 118 team members, including clinicians, administrative staff, part-time employees, and contractors, and they continue to grow their workforce as they move into the new year.

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC), ElevaCare provides holistic behavioral health and substance-use care services to individuals and families. They offer a full continuum of services, including adult and child outpatient therapy, psychiatry, assertive community treatment (ACT), crisis services, such as urgent care and mobile crisis response, and intensive residential treatment for individuals with serious mental illness. Substance-use treatment is also provided through their New Life Treatment Center, located in Woodstock.

“For the families and communities, we serve, this partnership represents a stronger, better-prepared behavioral health workforce. As our team continues to grow and advance professionally, we’re able to deliver higher-quality care, expand services, and respond to increasing community needs more effectively,” says Reyne.

ElevaCare is deeply committed to investing in the professional growth of its employees. Beyond the newly established strategic partnership with Buena Vista University, they offer paid internships and training opportunities. Mental health professionals are eligible for the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, and all employees can qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. In addition, they provide up to five paid training courses per year selected by the employees to support ongoing professional development and licensure needs.

“Partnering with ElevaCare helps BVU reach learners beyond Iowa. By offering flexible, career-focused programs, we’re supporting ElevaCare employees as they continue their education, earn advanced degrees, and grow in their careers,” said BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships Laura Todd. “This partnership shows how education can support innovation beyond the state.”
