Beaver Alum Earns Hy-Vee Honor
2013 Buena Vista University graduate serves as Hy-Vee Vice President of Finance
Kyle Auffert, a 2013 Buena Vista graduate, has been named to the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame.
Auffert, who studied accounting at BVU, serves as Hy-Vee Vice President of Finance. He earned the company’s Department Director of the Year for Administration honor in 2022.
“I’m grateful to be recognized for our team’s efforts in helping Hy-Vee continue to grow while serving our valued customers,” says Auffert, who interned at Hy-Vee’s Corporate Offices in the summer of 2011 and again in 2012. He also earned one of the University’s first Clifford A. Rae Academic Achievement Awards that helped him take a semester off while working for academic credit.
Auffert’s involvement with Hy-Vee can be traced to 2005, when he served as a part-time Courtesy Clerk at Hy-Vee in Clarinda, his hometown.
Auffert, who became a Certified Public Accountant in 2014, joined Hy-Vee as Assistant Director of Financial Reporting in 2017. He was promoted to Director of Financial Reporting in 2019 and assumed his current post in 2022. He and his wife, Amanda, have two children, Easton and Nolan.
