Intramurals

Intramural sports are a great way to stay active, meet friends and explore a new interest. BV offers a variety of activities for students and faculty to engage in some friendly competition. Choose from flag football, 5-on-5 basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, 3-on-3 basketball, futsal, racquetball, softball, sand volleyball, tennis, pool, ping pong, bean bags, and more.

Learning Objectives

  • By participating in intramural sports, students will be able to develop beneficial lifelong skills not only as a team player but as individual players as well.
  • Students will be able to take an active role in their personal wellness (emotional, physical, and spiritual) that supports a healthy lifestyle.
  • Will be able to make social contacts and develop friendships by playing and competition allows.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate skills and behaviors that contribute to successful work-related skills.

Policies for Intramural Sports

1. Participation in intramural sports is open to all BVU students, faculty, and staff.
2. All participants must register for sports online at www.imleagues.com/BVU by the deadline posted.
3. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
4. Championship t-shirts will be awarded to the winning team or individual in each league.
5. All updates to games and locations will be posted on Twitter and Facebook.
6.  The Director of Intramurals has the authority to revoke privileges for individuals who display inappropriate behavior and/or failure to follow the rules.

Creating an IMLeagues.com Account

All intramural participants will be required to create an account on IMLeagues.com. All tournaments and leagues are open to students, faculty, and staff and do not require an entry fee.

To create an IMLeagues account: 
**Note** IMLeagues offers a live support button in the top right corner of all pages, please use this button if you encounter any difficulties.

  1. Go to www.imleagues.com/BVU/Registration

                                        OR

          Go to www.imleagues.com and click Create Account

                                                    OR

          Go to www.imleagues.com and click “Log in with Facebook” if you have a facebook account with your school email attached - this will automatically create an account, fill in your info, and join you to the school (steps 2-4)

     2. Enter your information, and use your School email if applicable (@bvu.edu) and submit.

     3. You will be sent an activation email, click the link in the email to login and activate your IMLeagues account.

     4. You should be automatically joined to your school – If not you can search schools by clicking the “Schools” link

How to sign up for an intramural sport:

  1. Log in to your IMLeagues.com account.
  2. Click the Create/Join Team button at the top right of your User Homepage page
  3. The current sports will be displayed, click on the sport you wish to join.
  4. Choose the league you wish to play in (Men’s, Women’s, Co-Rec, etc.)
  5. Choose the division you’d like to play in (Monday 5PM, Tuesday 5PM, etc.)
  6. You can join the sport one of three ways:
           1. Create a team (For team captains)
    i.      Captains can invite members to their team by clicking the “Invite Members” link on the team page. Any invited members must accept the invitation to be joined to your team.
    ii. If they’ve already registered on IMLeagues: search for their name, and invite them
    iii. If they haven’t yet registered on IMLeagues: scroll down to the “Invite by Email Address” box, and input their email address.
         2. Join a team
    i.      Use the Create/Join Team Button at top right of every page
    ii.      Accepting a request from the captain to join
    iii.      Finding the team and captain name on division/league page and requesting to join
    iv.      Going to the captain’s playercard page, viewing his team, and requesting to join
         3. Join as a Free Agent
    i.      You can list yourself as a free agent in as many divisions within a league as you’d like. You will be visible to all members of the site and can request to join teams, or post information about yourself so teams can request to add you to their team.

Group Fitness Classes and Workshops

All classes are open to students, faculty and staff, but will be limited to the first 10 participants in the wellness room and 20 participants in White that show up the day of class. No pre-registration required. Class format will vary but will comprise of moderate-high intensity interval training with modifications for beginner-advanced. What a great way to stay active!
