Kelsey Sparks

• Academic Recruitment Specialist: School of Liberal Arts

Kelsey Sparks joined Buena Vista University as the Academic Recruitment Specialist for the School of Liberal Arts in 2026. As a BVU alumna, she is passionate about helping prospective students explore their academic interests, discover opportunities that align with their goals, and find a college community where they can thrive.

Kelsey earned her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History from Buena Vista University and then earned her master's degree in North American History at Arizona State University. Before returning to BVU, she taught high school social studies, where she developed a passion for mentoring students, building meaningful relationships, and helping them navigate important decisions about their futures. In her role with the School of Liberal Arts, Kelsey works closely with prospective students interested in the humanities, fine arts, and social sciences, connecting them with faculty, answering questions about academic programs, and guiding them through the college search process. Her experience as both an educator and a BVU graduate allows her to offer students an informed and personal perspective as they explore their options.

Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and their dog, Jax.
