Being a student at BVU gives Gwendolyn Walton the opportunity to be active and involved in her interests and passions. From dance and cheerleading to civic engagement, Gwendolyn balances her psychology major with a wide variety of campus activities.

Active learning

To gain real-world skills and knowledge for her future career in psychology, Gwendolyn is doing an internship at the Mayo Clinic in January 2014, working with a doctor who studies treatment programs for children with severe anxiety disorders. Passion for dance

Gwendolyn has enjoyed dance since she was a child, so being on BVU’s dance team and cheerleading squad is how she stays active in her athletic passions. Getting involved

Gwendolyn has a passion for being active in her community. She is co-president of Student MOVE, participated in the AmeriCorps program, took two A.W.O.L. alternative spring break volunteer program trips, and received the Iowa Governor’s Volunteer Award for her Glass Slipper Shop low-cost prom dress program.
