Supporting Scholarships: A Symbiotic Relationship

Scholarships enable BVU students to attend the University, accomplish their goals, and experience a variety of transformative opportunities, and those funds could not exist without BVU's generous donors.

"During the Celebrating Scholarships dinner, we get an up-close and personal view into the experiences of our donors and student recipients," says Ken Converse, vice president for institutional advancement. "Each of them is happy for different reasons, but they are bound together because of the shared experience of the scholarship; one giving and the other receiving. It is a powerful and emotional moment that neither is soon to forget – this is one of my favorite evenings of the year."

There are several types of scholarships that can be established at BVU to support a deserving student, including:

Named Scholarship – Make an annual gift to support a named scholarship that is distributed to a student each year that you make the gift (minimum $1,000).

Endowed Scholarship – Establish an endowed fund in your or a loved one's honor that is granted every year in perpetuity (minimum $25,000).

General Scholarship Fund – Support the BVU general scholarship fund through gifts of any size; awards are distributed annually to students who demonstrate financial need.
