David Ekstrom developed his talents early on by immersing himself in BVU's student-operated media organizations. During his time as a BVU student, his photography and multimedia skills earned him several awards. David's practical experiences and campus involvement provided him with the tools to succeed.

Applying skills

David co-produced and directed "Blue Sapphire Concert" - a concert event simulcast through BVU's cable channel, radio station and website. The project - which involved students and faculty from BVU's music, theatre and digital media programs - was inspired by a visit to the Paley Center for Media in New York City. Read more...

Traveling the globe

While traveling to Europe during BVU's January interim, David practiced his photography skills and captured stunning images in several European cities. David's photo of a canal in Florence, Italy, was selected as a finalist (out of more than 16,000 submissions) in an international contest sponsored by Photographer's Forum magazine and Nikon. Internship leads to a job

Following a successful January internship, David accepted a position with Meredith Corporation as a multimedia producer for Successful Farming magazine. Before starting his job, David traveled to Ireland with other BVU students and faculty to hone his photography and digital media skills. Read more...
