Dustin Shinkle, sophomore exercise science major, performs the Windgate test in his Interim class "Exploration and Assessment of Physical Fitness." The test requires the subject (Dustin) to "sprint" for 30 seconds under high resistance while his labmates count and record the the number of revolutions he pedals for every five second interval. The course, taught by Dr. Matt Hanson, introduces students to various components and testing procedures associated with the domains of physical fitness. Hanson, shown leaning over the front of the bike, is assistant professor of exercise science and athletic training.
