Eighteen Buena Vista University science students attended the annual meeting of the Iowa Academy of Science April 19-20 at Simpson College and made 19 poster and oral presentations.
They are: Sheila Narh, junior from Accra, Ghana; Nicole Hanish, senior from South Sioux City, Neb.; Andrew Smith, senior from Brayton; Raisa Bucheli, senior from Storm Lake; John Hill, senior from Webster City; Grace Sullivan, senior from Yankton, S.D.; Meg Williams, senior from Braddyville; Rachel Held, senior from Greenfield; Jacklyn Johnson, senior from Litchfield, Minn.; Michael Keane, senior from Panama; Jennifer Heim, senior from Watertown, S.D.; John Killpack, senior from Logan; Misty Bruhn, senior from Cherokee; Tyler Harm, senior from Schleswig; Andrew Schanbacher, senior from Storm Lake; Tesia Posekany, senior from Woodburn; Alex Paine, senior from Storm Lake; Roland Pappoe, senior from Accra, Ghana. Most of the students are biology majors. Those with additional majors are Heim and Killpack in environmental science, Keane in chemistry and Sullivan in psychology. Pappoe is a premed major.
BVU faculty members attending the event were Drs. Rick Lampe, professor of biology; Brian Lenzmeier, associate professor of biology; James Hampton, professor of biology; Melinda Coogan, assistant professor of biology; Lisa Mellmann, assistant professor of physical science.
