SAB Members to Present At Regional Conference

Buena Vista University's Student Activities Board (SAB) members will be attending a regional conference of the National Association for College Activities in St. Paul, Minn. April 4-7.

Ashley Rogers, president of SAB, and Alexa Guessford, who was SAB vice president for advertising in 2012, will present a program entitled "Pin This!: Pinteresting on a small campus," which will describe how to plan and coordinate an event while incorporating a new trend in social media. Ashley is a junior biochemistry major from Denison, and Alexa is a senior marketing major from Johnston.

Becka Neary-DeLaPorte, director of student activities and leadership development at BVU, will present a program entitled "iSab: The convergence of technology with programming." Her presentation will describe how the recent distribution of iPad2s to all BVU students has enabled SAB to transform its daily operations, assessment practices and marketing through the use of an iPad.

Other SAB members who will be attending the conference are: Matt Hudnall, senior history education major from Grand Island, Neb.; Alexis Williams, freshman Spanish and corporate communications double major from Mahtomedi, Minn.; Bonnie Keller, freshman biology and psychology double major from Sioux City; Kamsa Thephavong, sophomore digital media major from Storm Lake; Carolyn McDermott, freshman environmental science and biology double major from Lincoln, Neb.; Chelsea Baker, junior elementary education major from Keokuk; Katie Riesselman, junior elementary education major from Glidden.
