Students on the "Storytelling with Walt Disney" travel course meet 2004 BVU grad Tracy Cochran at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Tracy, pictured here in her driver's uniform, works at Tri-Circle D Ranch at Fort Wilderness and drives the horse-drawn trolley up and down Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom.
The travel course examines the business and communication strategies of effective storytelling through immersion in the Disney theme parks in California and Florida, as well as the Disney Cruise Line. Students get backstage access to witness the inner workings of the theme parks and visit with historians, cast members, and employees in marketing, media, public relations. The trip is led by Jerry Johnson, assistant professor of media studies, and Henry Hardt, professor of business law and finance.
