"Food for Thought" allows students to explore food in a cultural context. Topics include cultural diversity, family traditions, nutrition, food production, and everyday food norms, values and taboos. Also, students gain practical hands-on experience with planning and preparing four meals during interim including crafting budgets, preparing menus, shopping for and cooking foods, cleaning up after meals, and participating in dinner conversations. Through this course students develop confidence in the kitchen they can use throughout their lives.
