The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced its 2012-13 Fall All-Academic Team, and Buena Vista was represented with 27 individuals among the list of 313 from among the eight IIAC schools.
To be eligible for such recognition, an individual must be a member of the varsity team, be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one full year at the current institution and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
BVU was led by eight football players, with women's soccer and volleyball close behind with six and five, respectively. The eight football players also tied for the third-highest among any other IIAC school for that sport, while volleyball tied for the fourth-highest in that sport.
Fifteen of BVU's selection this fall are receiving recognition in that sport for the first time, while seven are being honored for the second time and five for the third time.
