Men's Track and Field with a Pair of All-Conference Finishes to Start IIAC Championships

Senior Bo Darrow captured a third place finish in the men's javelin throw, while the 4x800 meter relay team was one of five team's to break the previous meet record, as it also took third, to highlight the first full day of the Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships.

Darrow, who came in ranked third, finished with a toss of 50.88 meters with teammate Collin Mann right behind in fourth (49.11m).

The 4x800 meter relay team of Andrew Smith, Garrett Woodson, Ben Berberich, and Seth Woodson was clocked in a time record-breaking time of 7:48.44. 

Also on the men's side, Brock Loseke qualified for the finals in the 200 meter dash with a preliminary time of 22.69 seconds - his fastest time of the year.  He will also be running in the finals of the 400 meter dash after a qualifying time on Friday of 46.61 which was fifth.

Ryan Eberly had the third-fastest time in the 400 meter preliminaries (49.67).

Seth Woodson also made his way into Saturday's finals of the 800 meter run after posting a time of 1:54.59 which was third.

Doug Bohaty will represent the Beavers in the 110 hurdles with a qualifying time of 15.37.

Rachel Burnette will be running in Saturday's finals of both the 100 meter and 400 meter hurdles.  Her time in the 400 was a season-best.

Maggie Marker captured the second-fastest qualifying time in the 200 and the third-fastest in the 100 meter dash.

In the field events, Molly Hutchins placed eighth in the hammer throw with a career-best toss of 40.70, while Tina Ageson sixth in the javelin at 32.79.

Through seven scored events, the men are currently in seventh overall with 17 points - just 11 behind Loras who is in fourth.  The women, meanwhile are eighth with six points which is 13 out of fifth.

The final day of the championships is Saturday beginning at 10:00am.
