Buena Vista sophomore Seth Woodson wrapped up a strong season for the Buena Vista track and field program on Friday night at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as he took 16th in the preliminary race of the 800 meter run. The top 17 runners in the race were separated by only three seconds.
Woodson, who set a new school record and earned his bid into the national meet just a week ago at this very same track with a time of 1:51.52, finished with a time in Friday's race of 1:53.21. It was a mark that was just over two seconds from qualifying into Saturday's finals.
He was the team's first national qualifier since 2010.
