The Buena Vista wrestling team opened its dual schedule and its home schedule on Tuesday night by hosting fourth-ranked Coe College in an Iowa Conference match-up. The Kohawks, who had four ranked wrestlers in the line-up topped BVU, 42-3.
Coe (3-0, 2-0 IIAC) won the first seven matches of the night and scored bonus points in five of them.
The Beavers got on the board when second-ranked Brian Broll got an early second-period escape to edge Ryan Sheldon, 1-0.
The Kohawks, who placed third at the NCAA Tournament a year ago, had ranked wrestlers at 165, 174, 197 and 285.
Buena Vista is 0-1 overall (0-1 IIAC) and is now off until it hosts the annual BVU Open inside of the Lamberti Rec Center on Saturday, December 8. Action is scheduled to begin at 9:00am.
