Due to the continued threat of inclement weather in the Cedar Rapids area for the weekend, several adjustments have been made to the IIAC postseason softball tournament, men's tennis automatic qualifying tournament and men's golf championships.
Significant changes have been made, as the tournament has been trimmed down from a three-day double-elimination tournament to a two-day single-elimination event.
The first two games (#4/#5 & #3/#6) will take place on Friday with the final the final three games squeezed into the first part of Sunday.
BVU will play its first game on Saturday at 2:00pm against #3 Luther College. The winner of that game continues on to play on Sunday at 1:00pm against #2 Central College. The two semifinal winners will play in the championship game at 3:00pm on Sunday.
Saturday, May 4
No. 4 Simpson vs. No. 5 Dubuque, noon
No. 3 Luther vs. No. 6 Buena Vista, 2 p.m.
Sunday, May 5
No. 1 Coe vs. Simpson/Dubuque winner, 11 a.m.
No. 2 Central vs. Luther/Buena Vista winner, 1 p.m.
Semifinal winners, 3 p.m.
The IIAC Men's Tennis Tournament will continue on as scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but the event has now been moved indoors. Due to this change, the championship match has been forced to be pushed back until Sunday.
Friday - all matches indoors at Clark Racquet Center
No. 4 Buena Vista vs. No. 5 Wartburg, 4 p.m.
No. 6 Dubuque vs. No. 3 Central, 7 p.m. (or 30 minutes following the first match)
Saturday - all matches indoors at Clark Racquet Center
Fifth-place match, 7 a.m.
Semifinal #1 - No. 1 Coe vs. 4/5 winner, 10 a.m. (or 30 minutes following fifth-place match)
Semifinal #2 - No. 2 Luther vs. 3/6 winner, 1 p.m. (or 30 minutes after semifinal #1)
Third-place match, 6 p.m. (or 1 hour, 15 minutes following the second semifinal; may be played earlier by mutual agreement)
Sunday - at Clark Racquet Center (preferably outdoors, weather permitting)
Championship match, 12 p.m.
Significant changes have also been made to the men's golf championships. The final two rounds of the event have been pushed back a day to Saturday and Sunday. The 18 holes on Saturday will be played at Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids, while Sunday's final round will now be played back at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City (site of the first two rounds).
Saturday's round will begin at noon with Sunday's final 18 holes teeing-off in foursomes beginning at 10:10am.
