Job Search Services
BVU Career Services is partnered with College Central Network to provide
comprehensive web-based job search services to our students and alumni. Employers who want to hire BVU alumni or students can post jobs, review your resume, and connect with you for full-time and part-time jobs, internships, or summer jobs. Register here to get started.
Linkedin is one of the most popular professional networking sites on the internet. If you already have a Linkedin account, be sure to join the Linkedin BVU Alumni group. You can learn about job opportunities from other alums and post positions in your own organization, create discussions, and learn about networking events. If you don’t have a Linkedin account, be sure to add this resource to your ongoing career development strategy.
Let’s Partner!
You’ve been where our students are. We invite you to stay involved with BVU to assist our students with career decisions and opportunities. Here are a few ways you can reach out to current students:
Career Symposium:
Each year during Homecoming Week, alumni representing various occupations gather to provide career advice for current students through a series of classroom presentations, group discussions, and one-on-ones. Your real-world experiences can make a big difference to a student who is uncertain, needing more information to make a decision, or in the process of setting realistic goals. Your story can inspire and help students to persist to graduation. Contact your Alumni Office at devalum@bvu.edu to volunteer.
Informational interviews: Students benefit from first-hand information about a particular occupation. We welcome your willingness to take a phone call or to meet with a student who wants to learn more about what it takes to be successful. Let us know if you would be willing to talk to current students about your career.
Internships: If you work in an organization where college students could work as interns, please let our office know of these opportunities. Email careerservices@bvu.edu with details that include a brief job description, how to apply, and starting dates. For more information, visit our internship pages at http://www.bvu.edu/bv/career-services/internships/.
Employment and recruiting opportunities: Please contact us at careerservices@bvu.edu or fax to 712.749.2036 employment vacancies within your organization, or contact us if you wish to recruit on campus. We’ll be happy to host you.
Mock interviews: We welcome your participation as an interviewer for practice interviews with our students. Just give us your job title, organization you’re with, along with the college majors you’re comfortable interviewing. We offer mock interview sessions each semester.
On-campus presentations: If you have insights about your career that you would like to share with students preparing for a specific career path, let us know. We’ll connect you to the student organizations or faculty who may invite you to give a presentation in a workshop setting, club meeting or classroom.
