Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries is the premier source for reviews of academic books, electronic media, and Internet resources of interest to those in higher education. Each year Choice publishes more than 7,000 authoritative reviews, and all reviews from 1987 to the present are available in the database. Access is limited to three simultaneous users. CRO is best used with the Internet Explorer browser and the pop-up blocker disabled. Recommendations for purchase for the BVU library collection should be sent to morinj@bvu.edu .

ERIC (Educational Resource Information Center) is the world's largest source of education information, with more than one million abstracts of documents and journal articles on educational research and practice. The database contains more than 1,243,000 records and links to more than 224,000 full-text documents from ERIC.

GPO (Government Printing Office) Monthly Catalog covers all types of U.S. government documents, including Congressional reports, hearings, debates, and records; judiciary materials; and documents issued by executive departments (Defense, State, Labor, Office of the President, etc.) Over half a million government documents published from 1976 to the present are included in the database. Some records contain “Access” links that provide the electronic full-text of the government document.

MLA International Bibliography offers a detailed bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations. Produced by the Modern Language Association, the electronic version of the bibliography dates back to the 1920s and contains over 2.2 million citations from more than 4,400 journals & series and 1,000 book publishers. Many languages other than English are represented in the database. Subjects covered in MLA International Bibliography consist of literature, language and linguistics, folklore, literary theory & criticism, dramatic arts, as well as the history, theory and practice of teaching language and literature.

PsycINFO, from the American Psychological Association (APA), contains nearly 2.3 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to present, includes international material selected from more than 2,000 periodicals in more than 25 languages. More than 60,000 records are added each year. PsycINFO also includes information about the psychological aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, physiology, pharmacology, sociology, education, nursing, linguistics, anthropology, business and law.
