Meeting the Press

BVU senior Allissa Hopkins did a lot more than simply Meet the Press during her internship at the weekly Sunday morning television program in Washington D.C., she worked for them. The media studies major met and connected with some big names in the television industry, including Tim Russert (Managing Editor and Moderator of Meet the Press and political analyst for NBC Nightly News and the Today show).

Interim Course Spotlights

Every Iterim at BVU is exciting and different. See some of the classes offered during the most recent session!

More Here

As a BVU student, you’ll spend one month – January – each year, diving headlong into a subject through our interim program. You experience an education beyond the typical classroom setting, perhaps traveling anywhere from L.A. to N.Y., or even internationally to places like Paris, Madrid, or Sydney, or you can stay right in Storm Lake for classes unlike any offered the rest of the year.

See what it takes to prep a stage for a show while you get to know your theater professor. Bring your Western history course to life by seeing the historic sites in Europe for yourself. Delve into your accounting course by paying a visit to the IRS. Interim courses prepare you for life beyond BVU, by taking you there.

Find out about some of the Interim experiences you can experience.

A Peek at This Year’s Interim

You can see a Broadway show, explore career options in sports management, retrace the steps of, “The Da Vinci Code,” learn how to become a recording artist or discover fuels for the future.  When are these opportunities available?  These opportunities, among many others are available to Buena Vista students during January Interim!

Interim gives BVU students the chance to explore new learning experiences.  Take a look at the trips available in 2008: New York City, Florida, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Minnesota, Europe, India, Phoenix, Arizona and Egypt rounds out the options for travel.  The New York City trip takes you to a Broadway play, Ellis Island, museums, Central Park and several other places in the dynamic city.  You can climb via camel up the Mountain of Moses to see the sun rise, see the Great Pyramids and Sphinx in Giza and so much more if you go to Egypt!

But, you don’t have to travel to do something cool!  You can get that right here on campus.  How things work is a class you can discover the inner-workings of gadgets.  Or you can learn about the history, development and implications of sports video games, take a look at Chinese culture, study the history of the Blues or learn the various dimensions of the golf business!

You can take a class or travel but either way you are bound to experience something new and fun!
