MEET BVU FACULTY
Find out what some our faculty do, in and out of the classroom.

Where do you learn?
A classroom is an obvious answer, but what about while working on a new project? Or riding your bike? Reading a book? Volunteering? Surfing the web?
We call the combination of what you learn in the classroom and what you experience out of it integration, and it's what you'll do at Buena Vista. It makes a difference in how we teach and how our graduates are prepared to tackle the world. We blend liberal arts – subjects that teach you to think, analyze, and express yourself like English, science, math, and history – with courses that prepare you for specific careers, and we combine class time with hands-on projects through class trips, internships, and co-ops.
Together those experiences merge, giving you deeper understanding, greater knowledge, added wisdom, you might say. Wisdom that your first employer out of college is going to appreciate, maybe even reward you for. You're certainly going to notice the difference in the confidence you feel in yourself.
Here's one thing we've learned. Success isn't an individual act. It takes people who care about you, who pass on their experiences and knowledge of the world to you, who are there to listen when you need them, and who will give you advice when you seek it. It's something our faculty and staff do really well. They'll be there for you however much or little you need them. We also know that having the right tools goes a long way towards being successful, so we give every BVU student their own laptop. You're mobile and connected.
