The role of the modern manager is a complex one. Simply understanding a product or an industry is no longer enough. Today's manager oversees workers that are expected to be flexible, multi-tasking, and cross-trained. Their complex needs and the personalization of responsibility falls onto the shoulders of a manager. Managers also have to be prepared not only to understand the goals of the business, but how to best use the skills and resources of their teams, their own knowledge, and other resources to achieve business objectives. The management major gives you an understanding of data and personnel analysis, communications, and psychological insight to the work environment that you can apply across a wide variety of organizations and industries.
