Since 2011, BVU has served as the host university to the Institute for the Prevention of Relationship Violence (IPRV), one of the world's foremost experts on the prevention of child abuse, dating violence, domestic violence, and elder abuse.
Led by CEO and Founder, Pamela Lassiter Cathey and Principal Investigator Dr. Wind Goodfriend, one of BVU's esteemed faculty members, IPRV focuses on creating strategic partnerships between the non-profit, academic, for-profit and government sectors that result in profound social change.
Together IPRV and BVU honor and support the University’s six guiding values: passion, transformational experiences, meaningful connections, inspiration, stewardship & sustainability, and respect & inclusivity while working toward the Institute's guiding vision:
A world where every child, woman, and man is treated with kindness and respect, especially in their relationships.
