10 a.m. - Chapel – Schaller Chapel
Attend this non-denominational chapel service with Buena Vista University Chaplain, Ken Meissner, and the Student Ministry Team. You may also attend a service at one of the local places of worship. 11 a.m. - Lunch with University Seminar Group – Dows Grand Ballroom
Join your University Seminar group for an early lunch before you start your busy day.

Noon – 4:30 p.m. - Rotation (go with your University Seminar group to various locations)
- University Seminar Footprint Project – Assigned Classroom
Put the finishing touches on your project and presentation.
- TLTC & Angel – Hansen 8
The Teaching & Learning with Technology Center (TLTC) staff will introduce you to our university learning management system, ANGEL. You will learn about the institution’s e-mail system, Microsoft Outlook, its functions, and tips to help you succeed. Lastly, you will be informed about etiquette electronic communication (within Angel, Outlook, etc.).
- Introduction to the BVU Library (located in the Forum).
This is one of your first steps to academic success. Explore your library and meet the staff before the semester begins. There will be games, prizes, food … and yes we might even make some noise!
4:30 p.m. - University Seminar Presentation Sectionals – Forum Rooms 1,2,3 & Hansen 8
Present your Footprint Project to BVU and the City of Storm Lake Administrators to see if your project moves on to the finals.
5:30 p.m. - Campus Wide Picnic – South Forum Lawn
Get to know more of the BVU family as faculty, staff and returning students join new students for a picnic.
7 p.m. - University Seminar Presentation Finals – Anderson Auditorium
President Fred Moore and City Manager Jim Patrick will judge the finalist presentations of the Global Footprint Project. Come cheer on the other groups and see how you can get involved in some of these and other city-wide projects. The Beaver Games awards will also be given at this time.
8 p.m. - Johnny Holm Band – Middle Campus (in front of the Science Center)
A SAB (Student Activities Board) event and BVU tradition, Johnny Holm and his band perform an outdoor concert for the students of BVU. Come celebrate the beginning of a new year and take the opportunity to meet more BVU students!
