TLTC Dropbox and iCloud
Using a Cloud Storage System
Another way to store data is through a web-based system such as Dropbox. Dropbox allows you to store data such as documents, photos, videos, and more in a folder on your computer. Once you drag data into Dropbox, it is automatically saved to your account on dropbox.com. By storing files in Dropbox you are now able to access those files from anywhere where you are able to gain access to Dropbox; whether that be through the internet, or through an app on your iPad or a smartphone.
Mac users have the opportunity to use the iCloud system created by Apple Inc. Any Apple products with the most recent software updates and Macbook laptops with Lion OS already have iCloud on their device. Files are automatically saved to your iCloud and can be accessed from any Apple device or device that has iCloud installed on it. To learn more about iCloud, visit Apple's website.
It is recommended that you save all important files to a cloud storage system such as Dropbox or iCloud just in case your laptop becomes damaged or you find yourself in need of a file off of your computer, but do not have access to it at that moment.
