PT Mathematics Education - STEM

The School of Education at Buena Vista University is expanding its faculty to continue serving teacher education candidates on our residential campus and our sites across the state of Iowa. The Department of Mathematics, Science and STEM Education at Buena Vista University invites applications for a part-time teaching faculty position of mathematics education. Every faculty member has responsibilities to students as an instructor and mentor, to the school administration as an employee in an organization, and to their department as a team member willing to respect others and to support team goals.

Requirements include a masters degree in related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics and teaching experience in K-12 setting related to courses taught. Preferred candidates will demonstrate experience teaching in higher education setting, integration of instructional technology, flexibility regarding instructional modes. In addition, strong collaboration and communication skills are vital for working with students and colleagues.

BVU’s residential campus is located in Storm Lake, Iowa. Sixteen additional sites partner with Iowa Community Colleges and are located across the state. The successful candidate hired for this part-time position will be located at the BVU site in Council Bluffs (Omaha), Mason City, Ottumwa/West Burlington, or Fort Dodge. The specific location will consider the candidate's preference. Candidates considered for the position will be expected to collaborate with colleagues across the state by distance communication and with limited travel.
