BVU Lands 18 Student-Athletes on Spring All-IIAC Academic Team

Eighteen Buena Vista University student-athletes have landed a spot on the 2011-12 All-Iowa Conference Spring Academic All-Conference team which has been released by the league office.

To be eligible for IIAC All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must compete at the varsity level, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have attended the nominating institution for at least one academic year, and attain a 3.5 or better grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Of the 18 individuals selected, six were part of the men’s track and field team with five being part of the baseball team.  The five baseball players recognized tied for the most in that sport (Luther College) among all other league teams this season.

A total of 234 student-athletes were recognized among the nine conference schools this season.
