Senior Jeff Janssen, this week’s Iowa Conference Male Athlete of the Week, buried a three-pointer to give the Buena Vista men’s basketball team its first lead of the second half with under eight minutes to go, and the Beavers, who connected on 7-of-8 free-throws down the stretch, hung on for their sixth win in a row by topping Loras College, 68-65, on Wednesday night. Senior Jeff Janssen nailed a career-high six three-point shots to finish with 21 points, while junior Wes Nordquist converted 9-of-13 attempts from the field en route to another 21 points, and the Buena Vista men’s basketball team, which shot nearly 53 percent from the field in the contest, went on to pick up its first true road victory of the season by knocking off Coe College on Saturday evening, 75-61.
