Bladt Named D3ProDay.com Honorable Mention All-American

Buena Vista senior strong safety Alan Blast has been named a D3Proday.com Honorable Mention All-American as announced on Thursday.

D3proday.com is the nation’s first and only division 3 pro day and combine for seniors after the regular season. D3proday.com All-Americans represent the board’s best seniors in division 3.  The selection board is made up of pro scouts, NFL and CFL agents and former NFL coaches and players who evaluate players on their senior year, past performance, team accolades, and pro potential. Last year over 140 top Division 2 and Division 3 players, including 13 All-Americans, 134 all conference players, competed. This year  the east preps regionals combines are set for  New Jersey, Houston, Chicago,& Orlando and  the top 100 D2 & D3 players will compete in New Jersey on March 2, 2012 at the 2012 D2-D3 pro day national scouting combine presented by east preps.

Bladt is a three-time First Team All-Iowa Conference selection and finished second on the team this season with 82 total stops and ranked 11^th overall in the IIAC, averaging 8.2 per contest.  In addition, he posted 7.5 tackles for a loss, also ranking him among the league’s top-20.

Blast was one of four IIAC players named to the Honorable Mention Defensive Team and one of nine overall selected.
