About Jon: Born April 13, 1992.....Jon's the son of Don and Kathy Ringblom...his father played college football at Nebraska-Omaha.....He has one brother, Eric, who played collegiate baseball at Nebraska-Kearney.
College Highlights: Jon had the start of his freshman season delayed as he recovered from Tommy John Surgery on his elbow. He eventually made his collegiate debut against the University of Dubuque on April 1. His first career start came on April 30 at Loras College when he struck out four over three innings of work. He then notched his first career win a week later by going 5.2 innings, allowing only two runs during the Beavers’ 12-2 win at Cornell College. Two outings later, he got the start against Chapman in the College World Series and suffered a hard-luck no-decision in a 3-2 BVU loss after going a season-high 6.2 innings, allowing only two runs and striking out one as the team was just one of four teams left competing for the national title. Last season as a sophomore, he pitched a staff-high 71.1 innings over 12 starts, a total that ranked ninth among all IIAC pitchers. He went eight innings in each of his first two outings, combining to allow only two runs and striking out 13, en route to a pair of victories. He picked up his third win of the year when he pitched a complete-game at Nebraska Wesleyan and struck out a career-high nine without issuing a walk. He finished the year with a team-high four complete games and was tied for the lead with two shutouts. His first shutout came in his first start of the year with the second coming when he allowed just one hit and struck out five against the University of Dubuque. His 56 strikeouts tied for the team lead and ranked fifth in the league.
