About Joe: Born Aug. 5, 1991.....Joe's the son of John and Colleen Paletta of Omaha, Nebraska......He has one brother, Michael, and one sister, Gina....his sister played collegiate soccer for four years at Mankato State.
High School Highlights: Was a two-time letterwinner in baseball for the Patriots, while also earning a pair of varsity letters in football.
College Highlights: Joe played in 47 games as a freshman in 2011, including 44 starts. Playing primarily as the team’s designated hitter, he started the first game he played in, getting the nod at Westminster College on March 5. In that contest, he went 2-for-5 with a double and home run, three RBI and one run scored. He blasted two home runs, drove in two runs and scored twice at the University of Dubuque. His six round trippers were second on the team. His first career three-hit game came a day later also against the Spartans when he chalked up three doubles, drove in three more runs and scored twice. He tallied six total hits during the Central Regional Tournament, including his first career triple in game one against Carthage. Following the year, he was voted by his teammates as the Newcomer of the Year. Last season, he made a charge offensively during the IIAC Tournament, finishing 12-for-24 with three doubles, seven RBI and four runs scored, upping his season average more than 50 points. Earlier in the season he drove in a career-best four runs before matching that total against Coe College at the IIAC Tournament on May 11.
