About Nick: Born Feb. 25, 1992.....Nick's the son of Mark and Kellie Schlecht of Omaha, Nebraska.....He has two brothers, Sam and Ben, and one sister, Karly.
High School Highlights: He was a two-time letterwinner for the SkyHawks. As a senior, he was named all-conference, all-state and was also a part of the state runner-up team.
College Highlights: Nick appeared in 12 games, including six starts as a freshman in 2011. His first career start came against Grinnell College on March 5, while he picked up his first collegiate hit by going 1-for-3 with a run scored at Westminster College on March 6. He tallied his first extra-base hit when he captured a pinch-hit RBI double in game two of a doubleheader against Simpson College on April 23. As a sophomore last season, he started 38 games, primarily in left field. He recorded his first career three-hit contest when he went 3-for-6 with two RBI and two runs scored in the conference opener at Cornell College on March 23. One of those three hits was also his first career triple. Later in the year against Loras College on April 29, Nick went 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. He also had four hits and scored four times during five games of the IIAC Tournament in Cedar Rapids where BVU finished as runner-up. His eight stolen bases on the year were also second-most on the team, while he led the team in runs scored.
