About Lucas: Born 7/2/92...is the son of Bill and Lisa...has one brother, Jacob.
High School Highlights: Was a four-year letterwinner in baseball for the Comets, earning all-conference and all-district accolades as both a junior and senior, while also earning all-state recognition as a senior. In addition, he was a three-time letterwinner in football, earning a spot on the all-district team as both a junior and senior. He also lettered three times in basketball and was voted all-conference as a senior. Was a one-year letterwinner in both golf and track. Aside from athletics, he was a four-year academic letterwinner and a member of the National Honor Society.
College Highlights: Lucas made seven appearances for the Beavers on the mound as a freshman in 2012. He got the start in his first career outing, going four innings at Washington University on March 4. He notched his first career victory in his next appearance, pitching five innings, allowing just one run and striking out eight against UW-Platteville. He won his second straight start when he pitched six innings of BVU’s 19-4 home-opening victory on March 27 against Bethany Lutheran. He later recorded his first career save in the regular season finale at Wartburg College, when he pitched the final 2.1 innings and struck out two.
