About Ian: Born 8/14/1993...son of Lance and Letha Grigsby...has two sisters, Elizabeth and Jennifer.
High School Highlights: Received Super-State honors, All-State honors and All-Conference honors in 2011. Ian was a three-time letter winner in baseball and a two-time letter winner in cross country. Aside from athletics, he also received Academic All-American honors, was president of the Spanish Club and a member of the National Honor Society.
College Highlights: Ian made nine appearances on the mound throughout his freshman campaign last season, including starts in the last four. He made his collegiate debut against Washington University on March 2 and allowed only one earned run over 2.2 innings, while striking out four. He made his first career start at Luther College on April 6 and pitched a complete-game, five-hit shutout, striking out three during game one of the doubleheader. After sitting out nearly three weeks due to injury, he returned to make the start in the opener of the IIAC Tournament against Luther and picked up the win after pitching five innings, allowing just two runs on three hits, while striking out three. Prior to his injury, he struck out a career-high seven batters over eight innings during a win against the University of Dubuque to open that three-game weekend series.
