The Buena Vista men's golf team was finally able to tee it up over the weekend to begin its 2013 spring schedule, and the Beavers hung strong with a fourth-place finish in a six-time field made up of mostly IIAC teams.
Freshman John Bral tied for eighth after posting rounds of 75 and 76, respectively. He finished eight strokes out of the top spot and three back of a top-five finish.
Connor Dondale opened with an 84 on Saturday, but bounced back nicely on Sunday with a round of 74 to move his way up into a tie for 16th.
Luke Anderson carded a final round 77 and finished 24th, as teammate Andrew Zinn was one shot back and took 25th.
Kyle Auffert turned in rounds of 85 and 82 and took 27th.
BVU was in fifth after round one with a total of 323, but came back on Sunday with a 309 and go two strokes better than Coe College to move in front of the Kohawks by a stroke and take fourth.
Luther College was under 300 both days as a team and took the team title by eight strokes over UW-Stout. Simpson was third and 19 shots back.
The Beavers will continue its spring slate this upcoming weekend by taking part in the Wartburg College Invite on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17.
