Four New Members to be Inducted into BVU Athletic Hall of Fame

Randy Braden SL’76, Todd Candor SL’87, Marc Renning SL’91/MS’00, and Amy (Meggers) Divis SL’04 will each be honored and become the newest members of the BVU Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime ceremonies of the BVU football game against UW-Platteville on Saturday, September 6.

Randy Braden SL’76

Randy Braden was a four-year letterwinner in basketball, earning all-conference accolades twice and MVP honors once, and he played on the Iowa Conference Championship team in 1975-76. As a freshman, he totaled a school record 405 total points, including one 39-point performance, and when he graduated was one of four members in the 1,000-point club. Braden was a two-year letterwinner in baseball and member of the 1974 conference championship team. He is married to Marsha (Moxter) Braden SL’76, and in 2009, he retired from a career in education that included teaching, coaching, and administration.

Todd Candor SL’87

Todd Candor was four-year letterwinner in baseball. He was a Second Team All-IIAC selection as a sophomore, and he earned First Team accolades his final two seasons. He finished his stellar career ranked second all-time in program history with a .406 career batting average. He also ranked in the top ten, all-time, in slugging percentage, on-base percentage, doubles, and total bases. Candor is married to Lyn (Zeigler) Candor SL’90 and is the manager of dispatch for Schuster Company. Their son Kendall is a current member of the Beaver baseball team.

Marc Renning SL’91

Marc Renning was a two-year letterwinner in football, while earning four more in baseball. He was a four-time First Team All-IIAC performer and earned Second Team All-American accolades by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 1989. He finished his career ranked in the top five offensively in total bases (218), walks (72), on-base percentage (487), hits (138), doubles (30), and RBI (92). He struck out just 42 times in 359 career at-bats. Renning is married to Kim (Beckman) Renning SL’90, and he is the 2+2 Coordinator and a faculty member at UNI/DMACC.

Amy (Meggers) Divis SL’04

Amy (Meggers) Divis was a four-year letterwinner in basketball, finishing her career as BVU’s third all-time leading scorer with 1,632 points and second in rebounding at 809. Her 321 rebounds in 2003-04 set a new school record. She was named the Iowa Conference MVP twice and went on to earn First Team All-American honors as a junior. She was also part of the Sweet 16 team in 2003-04 that went 22-3 overall and 15-1 in Iowa Conference play. Divis is a paralegal with Baylor, Evnen, Curtiss, Grimit & Witt, LLP in Lincoln, Neb.
