Food and Celebration at the 30th Annual Christmas Dinner

Carols, delicious food, and Beaver friendship surrounded the 30th Annual All-Campus Christmas Dinner on Dec. 1. The holiday feast was enjoyed by Buena Vista University students and delivered with white-glove service by members of the University faculty, staff, and administration.

The evening began with opening remarks from Katelyn Brinkerhoff, president of Student Senate; Fred Moore, president of the University; and Sarah Mackey, vice president of Student Senate who told the history of the Christmas Dinner tradition. The event was started by a campus ministries organization known as “People for People” and has grown from a small gathering to now involve the majority of the Buena Vista University student population.

The evening offered a festive environment for the students and those serving the meal, with laughter and a variety of conversations taking place during the meal of roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing and green beans.

At the end of the festivities, the students, dressed in their holiday best, gathered with beloved mascot Buford T. Beaver for photos to capture the evening's memories.
