Samantha, a BVU grad herself, loves meeting new people and thinks that she can provide a realistic view of college to students. “There are so many fun things to do on campus, but even if you want to get a job working off campus, there are so many possibilities and community connections. Storm Lake really is a great place.”
She encourages them to go into college with an open mind, and be willing to try new things such as classes and activities on campus, as she herself switched majors during her time at BVU thanks to some guidance from professors. She said that the personal connection professors create with their students makes all the difference and that some of the most successful students at BVU get involved right away through clubs, academic travel, and athletics.
Samantha was born and raised in northwest Iowa and graduated from BVU in 2013. As a student, her favorite memories came from living on the third floor of White Hall, where she made lifelong friends that felt like family. Now, she can be found with her husband Brandon kayaking, floating on the river, or spending time with their dog, Sebastian, and cat, Kitty.
