Charles Stephenson Smith Scholarship 

Endowed by a gift from the Charles Stephenson Smith Trust in 1995, this $1000 scholarship is annually awarded to students. Mr. Smith, a native Iowan who had an outstanding career in journalism across the world, has left an everlasting legacy on independent higher education in Iowa through this generous endowment gift. Students must have graduated from an Iowa high school, be a junior or senior in the 2017-2018 academic year with a grade point average of at least a 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. This scholarship will prefer a major in Business, Journalism, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics. To apply, please email or stop by the Office of Financial Assistance by June 2nd, 2017.

Vera Mayer Trust Scholarship

The estate of Mrs. Vera Mayer in 1983 established an endowed scholarship fund that provides scholarship assistance annually. Mrs. Mayer, having no children of her own, wanted to assist worthy young people in achieving their dreams of attending college. This scholarship may be awarded to any Iowa students for any grade level. Athletes will not be considered for this award. Ignite Entrepreneurship Scholarship Program

This endowed scholarship program was made possible by a challenge grant from Gage Kent, CEO of Kent Corporation. The scholarship program is modeled to assist middle income students who demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership. This scholarship will be distributed annually to junior and senior students that major in a business discipline, have demonstrated entrepreneurial abilities, have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, demonstrates a commitment to the community, has work experience outside of school, evidence of extracurricular activity leadership, and a US Citizen. Preference will be given to applicants from Iowa. To apply, please email or stop by the Office of Financial Assistance before June 2nd, 2017.

Winter Estate Scholarship Program

Thelma and Carlton Winter were both passionate about their community, the state of Iowa, and educational opportunities for young people. To be eligible for this scholarship students must be a junior or senior, have above average financial need, be an Iowa resident, and first generation college student will be preferred. To apply, please email or stop by the Office of Financial Assistance by June 2nd, 2017.

Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Educational Fund

This is a LOAN program available to Iowa residents and may be extended to out-of-state students attending an Iowa college/university. Applicants must show financial need and have completed at least one year of college. A transcript must be submitted to show evidence of further academic success (sophomores must have a 2.75 CGPA and juniors, seniors and graduate students must have a 2.5 CGPA. Three character references need to be submitted as well. Student may borrow up to $2000/year up to an aggregate total of $6,000. Principal payments need not be made until the loan recipient's education is completed or discontinued. Current interest rate is 6% per year and payments should be made in semi-annual installments.
