Your Degree Makes a Difference

Your college degree is an important investment. A Buena Vista University education provides an excellent return on your investment. According to a survey of our Class of 2013:

  • 97 percent were employed or in graduate school within six months of graduating
(by far exceeding the national average of 63 percent!)
  • All graduates were employed/in grad school in 85 percent of majors
  • No major has more than one graduate still seeking first time employment

The survey was conducted among 2013 graduates of BVU's Storm Lake campus and had a 98 percent response rate.

What's more, 80 percent of students graduating from BVU do so in four years or less. Compared to schools where a degree can take 5 years or more, this makes a Buena Vista education event more cost effective.

The College Payoff

  • By 2018, 1.1 million jobs in Iowa — or 62 percent — will require post-secondary education. (Iowa College Student Aid Commission)

  • Lifetime earnings for someone with a bachelor’s degree are $2.8 million84 percent higher than workers with only a high school diploma. (2011 study by Georgetown University Center of Education and the Workforce)
