Plan and implement physical conditioning programs that enable athletes to achieve maximum performance. Help clients reach their health and fitness goals as a personal trainer. Become a coach and teach athletes the skills they need to succeed. As a human performance major, you will receive a combination of high-quality academics and practical experience that will allow you to gain a competitive edge and pursue a career in a variety of settings or continue on to professional school.
Early on, you will put theory into practice through research, travel, internships, co-curricular involvement and extensive hands-on learning opportunities. Through your studies, you will gain basic and advanced knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, nutrition, health and exercise physiology. You will also enhance your learning experience by working closely with highly qualified professors and practicing clinicians. In addition, you may choose to work alongside BVU’s strength and conditioning coach or with an exercise science faculty member as part of BVU’s intraship program. A human performance degree will equip you with the knowledge base and practical skills needed to excel in the areas of health, fitness and exercise physiology.
Working at BVU allows me the opportunity to get to know students individually and help them pursue their individual goals. To me, there is nothing more rewarding than student success.
